One command that should be taught early to a puppy is “leave it.” This teaches them to drop something and step way from things you do not want him to touch. This command is a great way to keep your dog from chewing things and make sure they do not chew dangerous objects.

Your training sessons should be very short. If you want a long session, give your dog a play break to stretch their legs and relax before resuming their training.

Some examples of primary reinforcements include your dog’s favorite treat or a belly rub. This will enable your dog to learn how to get something it is interested in having.

Always get your dog’s attention by doing the same way. Start each command by calling out his name. Get his attention with his name and make it follow that with what you want it to do. Dogs will hear there name right away and pay attention.
