It’s Important For Your Dog To Follow Directions

You and your puppy will both benefit from training.A well mannered dog shows what both of you know how to behave. It might not have been an easy road, but teaching your dog tricks and manners is an important investment in everyone’s happiness.

Once your dog seems to have acclimated to the crate itself, close the door and offer the dog a treat. Start off with small periods, and when they seem okay with that, and then gradually increase the times. If your puppy starts acting distressed about going into the create, you are probably proceeding too quickly.

Repetition is the key to teaching a dog a new commands. It is not uncommon for it to take between 25 to 50 repetitions of one command for your dog learns it.

Pick a recognizable phrase to use with your puppy while house training him. When it’s time for him to go outside to do his business, say the chosen phrase to keep him focused on the task he is to accomplish.

Remember to have patience when you are training your dog.This reduces frustration and annoyance when dog during this process. Keep in mind that they wish to please you; however, but cannot always understand what is desired of them.

Do not drag out your training sessions. If you want to engage in additional training, work in some break times so your dog can play before continuing with training.

Teach your dog not to bark with a silent command to avoid barking. If you repeat this long enough, the dog will figure out that it gets a treat if it is quiet when you say so.

Take your dog outside every hour to help teach him this is where you want him to use the bathroom at least once each hour.Praise him immediately as soon as he uses the bathroom outside.Don’t punish your pooch for eliminating inside the house. He won’t know what he did and will not teach him anything.

Stop your pup from chewing on something inappropriate immediately if you catch them doing that.

Consistency is imperative when training your dog. Being consistent pertains to words used for commands you want the dog obeying, to the tone you use with the words, and to the rewards you are providing for the dog if they successfully complete the command you are teaching them.

Most of all, puppy training is about establishing the rules of the relationship, and, just as with a person, you will enjoy each other so much more now that these rules have been established. Keep in mind that you must continually reinforce your dog’s training lessons. Always keep a close eye out and do not hesitate to enforce proper punishment on any violations of the designated rules. Once your dog has the basics of training under his belt, there is no limit to what the two of you can achieve.
